Using ‘feel tray’, ask children to touch the different objects, grit, wood and stone. Again encourage discussion, and write responses on sheet (feel, sound, size).
Can children describe how they feel, if they were approaching the door, include emotional feeling. As I got closer I could see etc. Ask pairs to generate ideas of who could live behind the door, using creative language. The sound of the door as you knocked it. The way in which it opened, predict potential smells from behind the door. Who is standing in front of you? (Was it an anti climax?)
